Banks Offering Business Lines of Credit

When it comes to getting a line of credit for your business here are a few things that determine if and how much you will get.

Years in Business
If you have a business less than 2 years old, then you will have to secure the line of credit in the founder's personal name.  This is just the industry standard, and there is no way around it.

Cash Flow
The amount of cash flow you have will usually determine the extent of the line of credit.  Very rarely will the line of credit exceed the amount of cash flow on hand.

Health of the Business
The health of your business based upon the last 2-3 years of books will also play a significant factor.  Banks do not want to extend lines of credit to dying businesses.  Remember that it is better to apply for a line of credit when times are good so that you will be able to have a line of credit when times are bad.
